Working with Alysza

How can we work together?

  • By paying attention to what is arising in the here and now

  • By offering psychodynamic reflection, psychoanalytic knowledges and coping techniques that allows client new tools and perspectives.

  • By staying curious and reflective together

  • Recognising patterns or narratives that may not serve you, building new ways of being by new way of relation.

  • I support and advocate for client to move forward in life from a place of self-compassion and strength.

Assessment -what is it & what is it for?

‘Assessment’ comes from the Latin ‘ assidere ’ which means to ‘sit beside’ or ‘assist in the deliberations of a judge’

The aim of assessment is to determine the suitability of clients for treatment; and to evaluate progress and outcome.

Therapeutic Process framework

  1. Assessment - It's about getting to know you, personal history, what make you feel safe and unsafe, diagnosis, what concerns you, therapy plan and goals may unfold as therapy progress.

  2. Creation - Client makes art with minimum intervention/direction, therapist may work along side client

  3. Reflection - Exploring what emerged in the work and in the relationship

  4. Insight/Interpretation - Therapist helps connect what was omitted during the session to psychological patterns, which is a parallel process not a definite outcome

  5. Working Through - themes that emerges and patterns that repeated over time
